Karen Williams – Founder & CEO, Cyber Brews LLC
Karen Williams is the Founder and CEO of Cyber Brews LLC, a premier cybersecurity training and networking company known for its "Mind Melding for Cyber Professionals" approach. With over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering and management—19 of those supporting the Department of War (DoW)—Karen has built a career at the intersection of technical expertise, professional development, and community building.
Beyond leading Cyber Brews, Karen is a part-time instructor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) College of Business, where she teaches Cybersecurity Management and Information System Strategy. Since 2012, she has held a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification, and in 2022, she earned her Information System Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP) certification.
Karen is deeply committed to advancing cybersecurity careers through education and industry connections. Under her leadership, Cyber Brews has grown from informal meet-ups to a thriving network of cybersecurity professionals, facilitating job opportunities, mentorship, and strategic partnerships. She has served on several boards and committees for organizations such as WiCyS, ISACA, and ISSA, helping shape the future of cybersecurity professional development.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts and a Master of Science in Management of Information Systems (MIS) from UAH, along with an Information Assurance Certificate from UAH.

Katrina Murphy,
Katrina Murphy, CAPM, leads Business Development for Cyber Brews, where she helps cultivate partnerships, strengthen community relationships, and create opportunities that connect professionals across the cybersecurity, defense, and government contracting communities.
A natural relationship builder and skilled communicator, Katrina works closely with sponsors, speakers, partners, and industry leaders to help transform ideas into meaningful programs and experiences. Her work spans business development, event coordination, partner engagement, and community outreach, helping Cyber Brews create environments where professionals can exchange knowledge, build relationships, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
Katrina also plays an active role in the planning and execution of Cyber Brews events, working behind the scenes—and often on the microphone—to ensure speakers, sponsors, and attendees have a welcoming and engaging experience.
Her ability to connect people, understand organizational needs, and build lasting professional relationships supports the Cyber Brews mission of bringing together people, knowledge, and opportunity across the cyber community.
